Skincare Made Simple

A Beginners Guide to Skincare

Skincare is a wonderful part of being beautiful. You are the architect of your own skin routine – You choose what you want to do because no one understands your body and skin better than you do! When you feel good about your skin, you feel confident and good about yourself. But with the busy schedules that we have these days, people are not able to focus on their skin as much as they should. Remember that good skincare should be something that you do on a daily basis, and not just when you have a big event to look forward to!

Many of us are not certain how to start or where to go for more information. With the rise in the number of skin care products in the market, it is now easier than ever to find and use the right one for your needs. Our blog will provide you with information on how to start with an effective skincare routine and how we at Refresh will help you in this journey. Now let us start from the basics.

What is Skincare?

Skincare is the practice of making specific changes in your skin’s external appearance, to make it look healthy and bright.

What are the causes of Skincare problems?

A variety of different factors such as diet, fitness and lifestyle can affect the skin’s health which is detrimental to how you want your skin to look! Many people are not able to focus on their skincare as much as they should because they are so busy with their daily lives. This results in several skin problems like acne, acne scars, dark spots, uneven skin tone, dull skin etc.

How to find a good skincare routine?

Skincare should not be confused with make-up. Make-up helps you accentuate your beauty, whereas skincare is something that will make your skin look beautiful, regardless of the way you look! The reason why a good skincare routine is necessary is that your skin is the first thing you will see every morning. Also, your skin is the first thing that you will see every time you look in the mirror! Let us start with the 4 basic steps of skincare that everyone needs to get accustomed to:

STEP 1: Cleansing

Cleansing is the process of removing all the dead cells from your skin and your pores. Face washes are made to remove impurities, germs, dirt and makeup that can irritate the skin and play an important role in your skincare routine. Choose a cleanser that is hypoallergenic, free of fragrance, chemicals, or alcohol and has no added parabens or sulfates.

Take a look at our Refresh Foaming cleanser that can deep clean your skin of dust, dirt, and excess oil without stripping your skin of its natural oils, leaving it soft and clean.

STEP 2: Toning

Toner is a chemical exfoliator that helps to cleanse your skin, remove impurities and help to increase the production of collagen. A toner should help and aid in better absorption of moisturizer or face serum and prepare your skin for makeup. Always look out for words like ethanol, denatured alcohol, ethyl alcohol, methanol, benzyl alcohol, and isopropyl alcohol—they all mean alcohol, and they may be hurting your skin in more ways than one.

At Refresh, we have tailored a 100% Alcohol-free PHA toner to address a variety of skin types. The toner with Aloe Vera extract helps soothe the skin and also restore your skin’s PH levels post-cleansing.

STEP 3: Moisturizing

Moisturizing is the process of nourishing your skin with moisture and hydrating the top layer of skin cells. This is a very important step because your skin can only stay healthy if it is properly moisturized. The type of moisturizer you use also depends on your skin type. For Example, If you have very dry skin, you must use a thick cream moisturizer whereas, for oily skin, you should opt for a light moisturizer. This is to ensure that your skin receives the proper apt hydration throughout the day.

This is why we have formulated a face moisturizer for all skin types with cucumber and grape seed extract to help with this. It contains antioxidants that fight against wrinkles and environmental stressors and helps keep the skin looking healthy and soft

STEP 4: Protection

This is the most important step of skincare because it protects your skin from external influences. As we said before, the first thing you will see in the morning is your skin! This is the time when your skin is at its freshest and most beautiful. . Sunscreen helps block ultraviolet (UV) radiation from being absorbed by the skin which can damage the skin and lead to sunburns and skin cancer. Most Sunscreen Lotions are not very effective against UVA rays. There are drawbacks to the use of topical sunscreen and sometimes may be harmful to the skin.

Keeping all these in mind, We introduce you to a new range of sunscreen in a more adept form free from all the drawbacks. Liquid Drop Formulation Base is a liquid-based sunscreen made from a certified blend of chemical and natural ingredients to give you the best in skincare for all your outdoor skin needs.

Consistency Is The Key

These 4 steps are very important because they are aimed to give you beautiful skin in no time. Many people are often sceptical of skincare because they feel it’s complicated and hard to figure out. They feel that a new skin-care routine doesn’t seem like it’s “working” right away. The most important thing to keep in mind is that your skin is constantly changing, and the products you use need to be matched to your skin type. Trusting in the process and Staying Consistent – go through the same skin-care routine steps every day, morning and night – This is the key to producing and maintaining real results.

Now that you know how to use a skincare routine, it is up to you how you use it to its fullest. Follow this routine for a few weeks and you will feel the difference with your face brimming with brightness.
